Marion Center Raceway Tour Event Winner & Updated Points as of 7/22/24

The Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series touring race at Marion Center proved to be an exciting action-filled event.  When a group of drivers who don’t race with each other on a regular basis get the opportunity to race together on a smaller track it’s unknown how things will go. The 18 pro stock drivers on hand provided racing fans with door to door action from front to back with very little incident. In the 20 lap feature event, there were just 3 minor cautions and the race lasted a total of 16 minutes.  Former Homak Penn Ohio Point Champion, Bobby Whitling took the lead from Timmy Bish on lap 15 and then cruised to the victory in his Slider Race Car.
The next Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series touring race is August 10 at Hummingbird Speedway for Ina’s Memorial.  Prior to August 10th, weekly series members will have plenty of racing opportunity to accumulate points at weekly sanctioned track events.
Chris Schneider has 23 sanctioned series races in already in the 2024 season and continues to sit at the top spot in the weekly series points. Schneider, a multi-Homak Penn Ohio Points Champion, shared with Penn Ohio Officials at Marion Center Raceway, “I just like to race.” Schneider has 7 wins, 20 top 5 finishes, 22 top 10 finishes with his worst finish of the season being a 13th place. Second place point sitter is Brandon Connor who is 51 points behind Schneider. Connor has 21 races in, 9 wins, 16 top 5 finishes, 19 top 10 finishes with his worst finish being an 18th place. Josh Seippel picked up his first touring race win at Latrobe Speedway at the beginning of the season. Seippel just snuck his way to the 3rd in the weekly points reaching his 12th sanctioned race on the season. Seippel has 2 wins and is 114 points behind Schneider. Cody Koteles moved from the 3rd spot to 4th in the weekly points with 13 races in and is 148 points behind Schneider. Christian Schneider has 11 races in and is 162 points behind Chris Schneider.
After four touring events, 3 drivers have competed in all four events. Josh Seippel continues to secure the lead with 374 points; but, Brandon Connor closed the gap to just 2 points behind Seippel after his 2nd place finish at Marion Center Raceway. Jason Fosnaught holds on to the 3rd place in the touring points and is 22 points behind Seipple. Touring race wins in 2024 go to Seippel, Christian Schneider, Chris Schneider and Bobby Whitling.
