Homak POPS weekend round up, sanctioning tracks, weekly points and 1st touring series race

Dog Hollow Speedway by J&E Motorsports partners with Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series in 2025 as a sanctioned track. The announcement of the partnership came last week and just in time for the Speedway’s opening night. The series now has 10 sanctioning tracks following Homak Penn Ohio Series rules for their pro stock division in 2025. Tracks include: Dog Hollow Speedway, Northern Cambria, PA; Eriez Speedway, Erie, PA; Hummingbird Speedway, Reynoldsville, PA; Lernerville Speedway, Sarver, PA; Marion Center Raceway, Marion Center, PA; Michael’s Mercer Raceway, Mercer, PA; Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, Imperial, PA; Sharon Speedway, Hartford, OH; Stateline Speedway, Busti, NY; and, Tri City Raceway, Franklin, PA.
Three Homak Penn Ohio sanctioning tracks had Mother Nature on their side on Friday, April 18th as the weather for mid-April was perfect for racing. Tri City Raceway and Dog Hollow Speedway had their season openers; while, Lernerville Speedway had a test and tune. Ten pro stocks participated at Dog Hollow and 11 at Tri City. Coming out on top with the victories were Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series’ members, Bruce Hartzeld and Michael Miller, respectively.
As more tracks open for the season, weekly series’ members will gear up to chase the Point Championship.  As of Friday, the series had 39 registered weekly members and expect participation to increase as more tracks open for the season. Drivers can register anytime during the 2025 season. Cost is just $100 through April 30th and $150 after that. A weekly series’ member will have the best 12 point races count toward the championship. Currently, Joey Zambotti sits at the top of the weekly points after two races. Zambotti grabbed the win at Michael’s Mercer Raceway’s Chiller Thriller back in March and secured a 2nd place finish at Dog Hollow. Full point list as of April 18th is below.
The Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Championship Touring Series is set to kick off on May 3rd at Michael’s Mercer Raceway. To date, there are 16 registered touring series’ members. Cost to register as a touring series’ member is just $100 through April 30th and $150 after that. Touring series’ members are allowed one substitute driver in the series’ members car and one drop race. The touring series has 9 races at sanctioning tracks with each tour race paying at least $1,000 to win, $150 to start. It is well worth drivers registering for both the weekly points and touring points.
