Homak POPS Updated Points & Touring Race Information
Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series’ Friday night sanctioning tracks, Hidden Valley and Lernerville, were able to get drivers some racing action last weekend; however, all Saturday sanctioning tracks lost to Mother Nature, while Sunday sanctioning tracks, Eriez and Tri City got heat races in. Finding victory lane were multi-Penn Ohio Points Champion, Chris Schneider at Lernerville and multi-Penn Ohio race winner, Brandon Connor at Hidden Valley. The two currently sit in the top two places in the Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Weekly points.
Latrobe Speedway made the tough, but right decision to postpone the first Homak Penn Ohio Touring Series race from last Saturday to this upcoming Saturday, June 1st. Pro Stock drivers will race at Latrobe for $1200 to win and $200 to start to kick off the 8-race touring series. Driver prizes are available to drivers participating in touring races and include a $100 Close Racing certificate and two Big Daddy Speed Center $25 certificates. Additionally, Lias Tire sponsored an American Racer tire going to the highest finisher on American Racers.
Weekly Series’ members will have an opportunity to get bonus points for participating in the touring race but will not be awarded points at another sanctioning track racing pro stocks the same night. Drivers can still join as a Weekly and/or Touring Series member to battle for two separate point championships. The 8-race touring schedule (Latrobe 6/1; PPMS Laboon Memorial, 6/8; Eriez Speedway, 6/23; Marion Center, 7/20; Hummingbird Ina Memorial, 8/10; Lernerville, 8/21; Sharon Speedway, 9/6-9/7/24; Tri City, TBD) gives drivers a chance to visit 8 out of the 9 series’ sanctioning tracks. One substitute driver is permitted throughout the 8-race schedule for each touring series’ member. Each touring race is at least $1,000 to-win, $150 to start.
