For Immediate Release

January 25, 2017 (Sandy Lake, PA) With 149 people in attendance and beautiful, spring-like weather, how could the 2016 Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series' Banquet be anything but a fantastic event.  The Humanic family and Timber Lake Lodge employees outdid themselves by providing a fabulous atmosphere and delicious food.

The evening kicked off with social hour at 5 p.m.  Attendees had an opportunity to mingle and participate in the Chinese Auction, 50/50 raffle, and corn hole board raffle for a little over an hour.  Before settling in to eat, three time point champion, Chris Schneider, delivered the invocation.

After dinner, the Chinese Auction prizes were drawn.  A total of 38 donations were received for the Chinese Auction.  All of the donors provided such great prizes and attendees graciously participated for an opportunity to win.

Emcee for the evening was Ken Humanic.  Mr. Humanic began the awards ceremony by recognizing the Series' sponsors from the 2016 season.  Although many sponsors were unable to attend, each sponsor was announced and recognized for their contribution to the series.  Those in attendance were presented with a desk plaque as a token of appreciation.

Following the sponsor recognition, the top ten Mini-Series point winners were announced.  Seven out of the top ten Mini-Series' drivers were in attendance and called to the stage to receive a shirt and point money.  Co-Champions, Paul Davis and Andy Buckley, were presented with a big check donated by Wrapz by Reiser and had an opportunity to have a tie-breaker competition.

For fun, Paul Davis and Andy Buckley agreed to toss four corn hole bags and the one to get the most bags in was declared the winner.  Davis started the competition and had the first bag sliding across the board and off the back.  Buckley came up short on his first attempt.  The second and third throws for both drivers matched the first.  Davis got one last attempt and was unable to sink the bag as it slid off the back just like the others.  It came down to the final throw for Buckley and the pressure was on.  Buckley's cool demeanor on the track carried over to the corn hole competition as he threw the last bag a perfect distance, sinking it for the win.

A brief intermission allowed the opportunity to award some of the 80 door prizes available for attendees with the main prize being Penguin tickets.  The winners of the 50/50 and corn hole boards were announced prior to returning to the awards ceremony.

When the awards ceremony resumed, the Touring Series' members finishing 42nd through 21st in points were announced and brought to stage if present.  Each member in attendance received a shirt, had an opportunity to speak, and received a driver prize through a random drawing.  Driver prizes awarded were:  Sonny Baker, aero bead lock wheel donated by S & S Chassis; Brian Carothers, funnel/fuel jug, and $25 Gift Card donated by Precise and Penn Ohio; Paul Petrovich, American Racer tire donated by Lias Tire; Shaun Hooks, tire gauge, pop rivets, zip ties, mud scraper, duct tape, and $100 Animal Graphics Gift Certificate donated by Wedge Motorsports, Penn Ohio, and Animal Graphics; Leigh Wheeler, funnel/fuel jug, $25 Gift Certificate donated by Precise and Penn Ohio; Jacob Billyk, fuel jug and $50 Gift Certificate donated by Close Racing and Penn Ohio; Rusty Moore, fuel jug and $25 Gift Certificate donated by Wedge Motorsports and Penn Ohio; Andy Buckley, fuel jug and $25 Gift Certificate donated by Big Daddy's and Penn Ohio.
