Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series racing got underway last weekend on Friday, June 9th at Lernerville Speedway.  Finding his way to victory lane for the 4th time this season over a field of 11 cars was Lernerville standout, Tyler Dietz in his Dietz chassis sponsored by Fox Trucking, Moody Sales & Service and Peluso Roofing.  With the win, Dietz has 730 points with 7 races in the books and sits 7th in points.
Pro stock drivers had an opportunity to travel to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway to compete in the prestigious 12th Annual Ed Laboon Memorial on Saturday, June 10th.  28 cars showed up for the $4,017 to win Homak Penn Ohio Pro Stock Series’ sanctioned event with Series’ members getting 15 bonus points for participating.  Series’ member, Cody Koteles set fast qualifying time in memory of Matt Miley.  Koteles picked up $199 and bragging rights.  Additionally Koteles won his heat worth $100 along with other heat race winners Tyler Wyant, Chris Schneider and Christian Schneider.  Fast dash winner Christian Schneider picked up $199.  Other contingency awards included Rookie of the Race/Outsider paying Homak Penn Ohio Series’ member, Brett Hutira $199; Hard Charger paid $199 to Series’ member, Josh Seippel for his charge from 25th to 14th; and, Series’ member Tim Bish was awarded $122 for leading on lap 22 as well as becoming the newest winner of the Ed Laboon Memorial.  Bish picked up his biggest career win in his Ringgold Plumbing & Heating, Barber Performance, C&L Welding SS Chassis.  Finishing in 2nd to Bish was Noah Brunell and coming in 3rd  was Series’ Member, Jordan Perkins.
Winners at other sanctioning tracks with racing action on Saturday, June 10th included Jim Bloom at Hummingbird making it two-in-a-row and grabbing the win at Marion Center to mark his 4th victory in the 2023 season was current Homak Penn Ohio Series’ points leader, Brandon Connor.
